NOTE: Each training is designed based on the needs of the program & staff.

Topics include active learning techniques & discussion- NOT lectures. Each topic requires a minimum of 2-3 hr. but can be extended for a full day of in-depth training.

Community Partnerships:


1. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

- Explore forming community partnerships, elements of a good relationship, & forming advisory committees. (Managers/staff)

2. ASSESSING YOUR NEEDS

WKSP A -Discover strategies for completing a community assessment & self-evaluation (including an ADA checklist). (Managers/parent council/board)
WKSP B -Discover strategies for using results of community assessments & self-evaluations to develop goals & objectives to meet identified needs. (Managers/parent council/board)

3. WELCOMING VOLUNTEERS

-Explore elements of an orientation for volunteers & strategies for matching their strengths w/program needs.
(Managers/staff)

4. DEVELOPING COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENTS

-Discover Strategies for forming collaborative relationships and negotiating written agreements with community partners. (Management)
